I  am a small studio potter working out of my garage in Fortville Indiana. I have been making pottery off and on again since my high school ceramics classes at Warren Central. I attended Herron School of art where I mainly studied painting but pottery was my first love and I think I will always gravitate back to it.

I handcraft each piece of pottery I make from start to finish. Every piece begins it’s life as a lump of unformed clay. I then throw, sculpt and hand build the final form. The piece is then fired, glazed and goes back in the kiln one last time. Opening a kiln full of finished pieces feels magical, like Christmas morning.

I strive to put that magical feeling into my pottery. Sure, pottery is something mundane that you interact with daily, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t bring something special to your day. A touch of something whimsical, a soothing texture or a color that reminds you of your happy place, or a half remembered landscape. I hope my pottery can do that.
